Tempo Change
ReCycle changes the tempo of your loop, not by time-stretching the sound, or changing its pitch. Instead, it adjusts the time between the slices.
Ghosting
In this example we start out with an original REX drum loop and fade over to a programmed loop which was created from the feel of the first.
Effects
ReCycle makes it possible to send different instruments in a loop to different outputs. In this example, you hear the loop dry first, and then with effects applied to some of the slices.
Variations
A common use for ReCycle is to slice a sampled phrase, then rearrange the slices to create a new composition. These examples first play the original loops and then some variations that we created simply by editing the MIDI notes.
Pitch
ReCycle allows you to change the pitch of a groove, without affecting its tempo. This example uses a guitar loop, demonstrating how it is possible to fit a riff to any key, again without affecting the tempo.
Quantize
With ReCycle you can use one loop as a groove template for another loop to make them fit together. In this example, two loops are first played separately and then together - pretty sloppy, eh? Finally they are played together with the straight loop quantized to the shuffled loop. Better?
